Description
An original work of art by Sherril B. Porter. A depiction of a group of teenagers with a child who are silhouetted in the foreground of a distant sunset over the Great Salt Lake. This could be anywhere. It is inspired from an image on the internet.
The Teens are all doing different things. The girl to the left seems not to fit this grouping. She is in rages and disheveled. The next girl is holding something. Showing it to the third girl. The third girl is not interested. She is too stuck on herself. Her pose is one of looking down on the other girl who seeks her attention. The younger Child is holding hands with her older brother. The only boy in the group. They are the only ones interested in the scene. This is the way I see it and my story. What is yours?
The sunset is very warm and colorful. Its Yellows and Reds are memorizing with a patch of blue. The clouds make the sunset. The white reflection across the lake and the glow of the setting sun make this scene. The figures were drawn and added to the scene in marker and painted. They are very deliberate and detailed even though they are done in black silhouette. This painting is gallery wrapped with the painting continuing around the edges. It is done in a narrow 1 by 2 ratio to give it a big sky effect.
