The antlers are palm shaped and done in detail. The fur and hair are done in detail. The river is done with a pallet knife to create a broken or water flowing effect. The background is out of focus to bring the eye to the moose. The light source is to the right as shown in the highlights. This painting is referenced from images on the web.
aka Sher'L I was born an Artist. It was in my genes. I am the Son of Elbert H. Porter, famous dinosaur sculptor. I studied art in high school and minored in art in college. For a short time I owned a sign shop. My profession is Lab. Tech. at industrial facilities. Now that I am retired, I plan on doing my passion which is Art and in particular, Oil Painting. Presently my interests are painting wildlife, landscapes, still life, etc.
