Description
An original work of art by Sherril B. Porter. A depiction of a male “Buck” Pronghorn in a majestic pose. The American pronghorn is often referred to as an antelope but is not a true antelope. It is a species unto itself and is related to the giraffe. The Pronghorn is the fastest North American mammal reaching up to speeds of 55 mph. Its distinctive black and white marking with a light brown coat is unique. It roams in the great plains of North America.
This painting shows in detail the markings and fur of the animal. The background is out of focus to bring the pronghorn into sharp detail. Its hooves are hidden in the foreground grass.
This painting is referenced from a web photo.
